Maintenance Information

With the deployed user always in mind, Comrod's aluminium crank-up masts are purposefully designed to greatly reduce maintenance, so no special tools or complicated maintenance procedures are required to service or repair masts. And all masts and accessories have part numbers to facilitate easy ordering. Mast maintenance falls into two categories – ‘deployed mast’ maintenance and ‘in-storage’ mast maintenance. Deployed mast maintenance is accomplished by the deployed operator/user.  A User Manual is provided with each mast that describes the maintenance routine and schedule.  And to overcome language barriers, the User Manual contains pictures/drawings depicting the maintenance procedures. Deployed mast maintenance tasks focus on keeping the mast clean from mud and debris and inspecting for damage and wear.

Non-routine deployed mast maintenance requires replacement of the hoisting cable after 750-1000 erection/retraction cycles depending on the particular mast. This procedure is accomplished by the operator either in the field or in the user storage facility.
In-storage masts do NOT require periodic inspections nor routine maintenance when stored indoors, and there is no requirement for climatization, thus reducing lifecycle costs to the user. History has proven through our elegant but simple design and rugged construction techniques that most maintenance issues are resolved over the phone or through email.
