Breakthrough order on Navy antennas

Comrod AS, a fully owned subsidiary of Comrod Communication ASA has, by Thales Netherlands, been awarded a first contract for delivery of flat panel antennas for 4 ships in the Dutch Navy for approximately NOK 3 Million. Deliveries will start in Q2/2009 and will be completed early in 2010.
Comrod has since 2007 worked to develop new antenna solutions where the antennas can be integrated into the hull or the topside mast of ships. The integrated solution may also be used in other applications. (Illustration of Flat panel antennas)

The solution Comrod now is selling is a package of 4 different new panel antennas covering VHF & UHF frequency bands.

This development process has been done in close cooperation with Thales Netherlands (a subsidiary of the French Thales Group). Thales will offer the new Comrod panel antenna concept as a solution to customers all around the world.

With operations in 50 countries and 68,000 employees, Thales is a world leader in Mission-
Critical information systems for the Aerospace, Defence and Security markets.

“With the high number of navy ships expected to be build the next 3-5 years, the cooperation with Thales on sales and distribution opens up a very interesting potential for these new products”, says a satisfied CEO Niklas Hermansson. “That Comrod Communication Group again is chosen by a leading defence company as Thales Group as the partner for development and delivery of such products, underlines the strong international standing Comrod has for delivery of leading edge communication products during decades.”
