COMROD – Break through order for Comrod Power Supply

The Power division of Comrod AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Comrod Communication ASA, has received an order of approximately USD 1 million (NOK 5.1 million) for delivery of battery chargers to U.S. - based radio manufacturer Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS).
“The U.S. market is a key focus area to the Comrod Communications Group and in the past year both Comrod and Lerc has been awarded significant contracts from U.S. customers. We see this contract as a breakthrough for our Business area Power Supply in the U.S. market, and it represents an important first step in establishing a wider customer base for our Power supply products” says Comrod Communications CEO Eirik S. Larsen.

Under the contract, Comrod will deliver battery chargers for the Harris RF-7800S Secure Personal Radio. The battery chargers will be delivered before year-end 2008. The Harris RF-7800S is a lightweight wideband radio that delivers secure tactical communications to individual soldiers. Earlier this year the radio was chosen for the Norwegian Defense Forces’ Personal Field Radio Standardization Program.

The power division has since 1987 been delivering power supplies and battery chargers to several armies, and also to contractors with export world wide.
