Comrod AS sees strong increase in demand on new tactical multiband antenna

Comrod AS has received updated forecasts for further deliveries above the initial contract value, and for the remaining part of 2008 to Harris Corporation in the USA, based on the successful first deliveries on the new advanced multiband vehicle antenna. The initial 10 million USD contract was received in July last year; and was initially for deliveries up until June 2008.

From production start in July 2007, new multiband vehicle antennas for about 5 million USD was shipped last year, and the new forecasts suggests that the total deliveries on this antenna product only will amount to 15 – 20 million USD for 2008 as a whole. These forecasts may change with variations in the timing of our customers delivery schedules and contracts, but as the new antenna now has proven itself in field operations, Comrod expects to see high volumes requested, also into the next coming years, to Harris and to other main customers.

Comrod has for the last months been increasing production capacity at its Tau location to be prepared for this increase in demand. Further capacity increase is planned in order to be well positioned to harvest on this positive market response.
