Comrod AS a fully owned subsidiary of Comrod Communication ASA has received its first order for approx. NOK 15 million for the new Australian tactical defence program JP 2072. The delivery is for the first Brigade to be equipped in 2011. Comrod is expecting several new orders from this program to equip the remaining Australian Brigades over the coming years.
The Australian JP 2072 program is intended to be a deployable, scalable, secure and integrated battlespace communications system that allows ground forces to exchange information across all combat elements, improving soldiers’ safety and their ability to accomplish their missions. The system had to meet the existing and emerging information exchange requirements of command support, intelligence, offensive fire, logistics, ground-based air defence and sensor-linked weapon systems.
The products to be delivered are part of the brand new types of antennas developed by the Company.
“A new international recognition that is extremely positive for the Company. This is very much in line with our strategic plan to develop the Company worldwide through focusing on defence and niche extreme markets”. This also gives us the opportunity and reference to promote other products that we have within the Group”.
“We are very satisfied to have secured this long term contract” says President and CEO Niklas Hermansson.
